Clock Repair and Conservation – Our Process

All clock repair and conservation projects begin with a full examination before being dismantled. A careful record of any unusual features and markings on the clock is made. It is then necessary to dismantle the clock in order to carry out an in-depth examination along with an initial cleaning process. A plan of all required clock repair and/or conservation work is discussed with our client. Any replacement parts, apart from mainsprings, are handmade.

A final cleaning process takes place before reassembly, lubrication and testing. Once the clock is operating satisfactorily arrangements will be made for its return.

All our full conservation and repair work is guaranteed for twelve months.
